Welcome!

I suppose I should introduce myself, this being my first blog post and all. I am currently a happily married, 8 months pregnant, 24 year-old female living in the cold depths of Wisconsin. Aside from what some people would call an unhealthy obsession of the feline species, I also have an obsession of all things knit. When I began my adventures in college, I was introduced to knitting. I had no experience with knitting other than an appreciation for my great grandma Daisy's crocheted afghans. Out of pure boredom and lack of other hobbies, I picked up my first set of needles...and away I went. So, I've been a knitter on and off for nearly seven years. I would still consider myself a beginner, as it feels I am constantly learning something new about my technique or ability every time I knit.

Even though I graduated with degrees in environmental policy and planning, urban and regional studies, and minored in geography, I am still, sadly, unemployed. I had a job working in the neighborhood division with my city, but this pregnancy has rendered me a lame cow, and by doctor's orders, I am unable to work. Therefore, I have ample time to knit. Henceforth, this blog came to be.

I don't have a fancy camera (frankly, I don't have fancy anything), nor do I have fancy yarns. But, I do have a fancy for sharing my experiences with others, and I guess, all-in-all, that's my aim.

My son, due March 27th of this year, is essentially the one benefiting most from my knits. I've tweaked a few patterns (ogre hat, cat hat, cat paw bib, baby booties, owl or hootie hat, patchwork baby blanket, etc.) to eventually share with my little tiger bee. My favorite knits, however, are socks. Socks look great on everyone...especially to those who hate bare feet. My family has seen their fair share of socks. I knit hats for strangers. I want to start knitting hats for charity (chemo, premies, etc.) Anyway, my point is, I could knit all day, every day,  for every person in the world, and I still wouldn't be tired of it. Give me an endless supply of yarn, and I will knit until my fingers fall off. That's how I roll.

I am currently working on finding a venue to take decent photos with my ancient camera. I'm also working on excel to start charting out some of these patterns I've made. Next time, less text, more photos (maybe even one of my beloved cat, Janice)!

Knit on!
